CHIMERA

The title of this group of six paintings comes from the idea of the hybrid, as I'm juxtaposing different paint media, but also from the word's secondary meaning, a thing that is hoped or wished for but in fact is illusory or impossible to achieve. Like Cezanne in his 80s saying, "Progress is slow."
